Easy Dinner Recipes - Za’atar Chicken!

Cooking with our Za’atar condiment and spread couldn’t be more simple. It makes any dish burst with flavor, healthy, and hassle free!

If you’re new to cooking with Za’atar, don’t be intimidated our Zesty Z condiments makes it easy. Za’atar is a Mediterranean staple in kitchen across the region. It’s a blend of wild Mediterranean thyme, sesame seeds, sumac and oregano – you can’t go wrong with those clean ingredients! At Zesty Z we mix Za’atar and with extra virgin olive oil. Our magic is inspired by the popular Lebanese Za’atar style.

For this recipe we suggest preparing the chicken with olive oil, salt, and pepper then cooking. With 1 minute left (for a Mediterranean crust) or directly out of the oven add Zesty Z. Make sure not to broil with Zesty Z because the sesame seeds might burn.

Use a mandolin (or your sharpest knife) to slice the cucumber and red onion into thin pieces. While you’re at it, chop a handful of fresh dill leaves. Next, you’ll add the cucumbers to a colander and toss with a light coating of salt and sugar. You and the cucumber mixture can chill for an hour. Once you both have enjoyed the ideal amount of chilling time, drain any excess liquid from the colander and combine the rest of the ingredients—the vinegars, onions, and dill.

Chicken Ingredients and Instructions:

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 jar of Zesty Z
  1. Coat chicken with olive oil, salt and pepper.
  2. Grill chicken breasts until cooked through.
  3. Top with Zesty Z.

Cucumber Dill Salad Ingredient and Instructions:

  • 1 large cucumber, unpeeled and sliced thin using a mandoline
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • ½ red onion, sliced thin
  • 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons red wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup fresh dill leaves
  1. Put cucumber slices in a colander. Set colander inside a small bowl. Sprinkle cukes with salt and sugar. Place in refrigerator for about an hour.
  2. Drain cucumbers and add to a bowl with the rest of the ingredients.
  3. Stir well.
  4. Refrigerate or serve.
